Attending: Christoph Montag, Mike Leitch, Stephen Trentalange, Fulvia Pilat,, Wolfram Fischer, Paul Sampson, Mike Sivertz.
Wolfram asked if there was a calculation of the total d-
Au cross section. The p-p effective
cross section for ZDC collisions is 0.41 mb.
Paul reported that Don and the PS group is doing well, and he expects to finish tonight. We may be in a position to sweep the experiments by ~17:00.
STAR may need an access later this week, but has no specific request at this moment. The FMS is off and pulled back from the beam for tuning. When colliding beam is imminent, they will need an hour or so to move the FMS back into position next to the beam.
PHENIX expects to be out of the IR by 17:00. But PHENIX is concerned that their ZDCs are not positioned correctly.
Wolfram led a discussion of how many colliding bunches each experiment wanted, somewhere between 93 and 111, with a default of 102, giving 9 non-colliding bunches for each experiment in each ring. The experiments will consult the experts and respond later.
