Time Meetings resume 16 September 2008 at 13:30 in the Snyder Auditorium.

RHIC

There is not yet a firm schedule for the RHIC Run 09. 

Cooldown starts Jan 1, with physics running starting Feb 1 2009.

If we get a budget, then we run 21 weeks or so.  Run at 500 and 200 GeV, predominantly longitudinally polarized protons.

If we don’t get a budget, then we run at 500 GeV only.   Under a continuing resolution, we will do 3 weeks of physics at 500 GeV of longitudinally polarized protons (plus a little bit of transverse to characterize the local polarimeters). 

First plane of stochastic cooling is on schedule for a Feb 1 start-up.

Spin flipper will go in one of the rings, to be used for testing.

9 MHz is in and under test.

Polarimeter is getting a new vacuum chamber, with independent vertical and horizontal target mechanisms. 

 

NSRL

NSRL Run 08C begins 29 September 2008 running through 21 November 2008.
